Welcome to the Rubenesque Social Club. Although we are located in the Upstate of South Carolina we have sister groups located in other areas of North and South Carolina. Here you will find information regarding who we are, what we stand for, and what our goals are. The definition of rubenesque (per Merriam-Webster) is: plump or rounded usually in a pleasing or attractive way. Peter Paul (1577-1640), better known as Rubens, was a Flemish painter who painted in Baroque style landscapes, portraits, and especially historical and sacred subjects. Known for his masterly use of color and the sensuous exuberance especially of his female nudes, Rubens display of voluptuous women has caught the eye of many and is the very reason his artistic name has been used to format a word giving a positive edge to voluptuous men and women.For those of us that "suffer" from obesity and have spent our entire lives in ridicule for our size, condemned for enjoying our meals, and lectured by everyone we hold dear to our hearts, we now have a solution. The Rubenesque Social Club is just what it says, a club for "rubenesque" men and women. We have monthly Meet & Greets, Sunday Socials, Weekly Online Chats, and more. We are always getting together with each other and creating fun and friendship.
There are no membership dues or fees. It is our goal to keep it that way. This club is for the sole purpose of promoting a happier and better life for the voluptuous person through support, education, and friendship.For questions, comments, and/or information contact bige1016@yahoo.com
